Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Officially Launched as Ultra-Slim Flagship

Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge, the newest member of its Galaxy S lineup. The S25 Edge is touted as "more than a slim smartphone", delivering flagship power in an exceptionally thin form. It measures just 5.8 mm thick (weighing ~163 g) thanks to a titanium frame and refined design. Samsung calls this "the slimmest device in Galaxy S series history". TM Roh, Samsung's DX Division head, said the S25 Edge "marks a breakthrough for its category" and accelerates innovation across the mobile industry.
Design and Build
The Galaxy S25 Edge uses premium materials and precision engineering. Its side frame is made of titanium, prized for elegance and strength, which creates a "slim yet sturdy" feel. Curved edges and a one-mass body design blend seamlessly with the back cover, giving a clean, minimalist profile. Corning's new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 is used on the front display for extra durability. As design VP Jiyoung Lee explains, this model "represents the most essential form of a smartphone by removing all unnecessary elements". In practice, the extra-thin build translates to improved ergonomics: the S25 Edge offers "a natural one-hand grip that reduces wrist strain" and a flat front with a subtly curved back for comfort.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Edge offers flagship-level performance. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8® Elite for Galaxy chip (customized by Qualcomm) – the same top-tier processor used across the S25 lineup. This ensures fast performance for apps, gaming and multitasking. To manage heat in the thin chassis, Samsung redesigned the vapor chamber (making it broader but thinner) so the device stays cool under heavy load. The S25 Edge comes standard with 12 GB of RAM and either 256 GB or 512 GB of storage.
Battery life is supported by a 3,900 mAh typical battery (rated 3,786 mAh minimum). Fast charging enables about 55% charge in 30 minutes with a 25 W adapter. Wireless PowerShare and wireless charging are also supported. For connectivity, the phone includes 5G and LTE mobile networks, the latest Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC. It runs Android 15 with Samsung's One UI 7.0 on top, bringing the latest software features and security.

A major theme of the S25 Edge is deep AI integration. Samsung's Galaxy AI is built into many aspects of the phone. On-device AI agents help with tasks across apps, and features like Now Bar and Now Brief add smart suggestions with privacy in mind. Google's Gemini Live (new for Android 15) is supported, allowing AI to analyze what the camera sees and interact in real time. Price and Availability
Samsung India began accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy S25 Edge on May 13, 2025. In India, the 12 GB/256 GB model is priced at ₹109,999, and the 12 GB/512 GB model at ₹121,999. Pre-orders include a free ₹12,000 storage upgrade (i.e. customers who reserve the 256 GB variant can upgrade to 512 GB) and up to 9 months of no-cost EMI options. The device is offered in Titanium Silver and Titanium Jetblack in India.
In the United States and other markets, Samsung has announced that the S25 Edge will go on sale on May 30, 2025. The starting price for the unlocked US model is $1,099.99 for 12 GB/256 GB, and $1,219.99 for 12 GB/512 GB. Major carriers and retailers will offer the phone with usual promotions and trade-in offers; on Samsung's own site the phone is listed "From $1,099.99 before trade-in.". As with previous Galaxy launches, the S25 Edge will also be sold through carriers (e.g. Verizon, AT&T) with installment plans and trade-in credits.
Comparison and Context
Compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 (non-Ultra), the new Edge model is markedly slimmer and lighter. The S24 was about 7.6 mm thick and ~168 g, whereas the S25 Edge is only 5.8 mm and 163 g. Yet Samsung has packed in many of the strengths of a flagship: the same high-end camera sensor (200 MP) previously seen only on the Ultra model, plus AI-driven photography and editing tools from the S25 series.
